I confess that if I see a grown-up wearing flip flops, Crocs or Tevas on an airplane, I am peeved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t empathize with the choice; comfort and ease are very important to me as well. But, of all the forcibly intimate things thrust upon us during air travel, does viewing a stranger’s toes have to be one of them? I want to be comfortable too! The older I get, the more I pine for the perfect cute but practical travel shoes. Obviously, sandals are out, or I’d be a massive hypocrite. So I’m opting for a slide, loafer or sneaker to keep my feet happy while also tucked away. Em’s Boutique recommends both the Zoe Slipper and Velcro Sneaker for a long day of travel. These options are fashionable, yet cozy enough to wear all day. Several of my chic friends and family members recommended Ron White or Tiger sneakers. For now, I’ve settled on black shearling slides and loafers from Jean Therapy that I think will work well on the plane and for lunches and long walks. I’ll keep you posted if I find more. Here are the other styles on my radar:
Sneaker with Shoe Charm, Anthroplogie (Canal Place)
Velcro Sneaker, Em’s
Panama Sneaker, Jean Therapy
Zoe Slipper, Em’s
Buckle Mule, Macy’s
Shearling Slide, TKees
Buckle Slip On, Ballin’s
Loafer, Jean Therapy
Douglas Loafer, Feet First
