The Bower Bar Launches Mardi Gras-Inspired Cocktails

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Just in time for Mardi Gras, The Bower Bar is unveiling a new caffeinated cocktail menu and Mardi-Gras-inspired cocktails that are certain to kick things up a notch! Available Twelfth Night through Fat Tuesday, cocktails will feature an array of house-made brews, matcha, and more, perfectly balanced with ingredients from The Bower’s partner farm, Sugar Roots. Caffeinated cocktails include Chai Chai with redemption rye, house chai syrup, and bitters; andEspresso Martini with Birdy’s cold brew, vanilla vodka, and Kahlua. Additional Mardi-Gras-inspired cocktails includeCarnival Negroni with house-made glittered Campari, gin, and vermouth; St. Charles Sour with house-infused peach bourbon, lemon, Aquafaba, and red wine float; Mobile Mardi Gras with spiced rum, chocolate vegan soft serve, and Mardi Gras magic; and Tropical Storm (frozen) with silver rum, hibiscus, tropical fruit, and edible glitter.

Sister location Birdy’s Behind the Bower will offer visitors to enjoy the Mardi Gras Martini with Gambino’s king cake rum cream, vanilla vodka, and amaretto to add a little fun to their night. 

According to Beverage Director Mickey Mullins, “Mardi Gras requires serious energy, so we wanted to create some cocktails that will give our guests a little giddy-up before hitting the parades.” The specialty cocktail menu will be available at The Bower Bar and sister restaurant, Birdy’s, from through Feb. 13. The restaurant will also host a special Mardi Gras luncheon on Friday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Executive Chef Marcus Woodham has curated a delightful three-course menu priced at $54 per person (plus tax and gratuity). The menu includes first course options of Whipped Feta with house pickles and grilled baguette; Smoked NOLA BBQ Crab Claws with roasted garlic crostini; and Crawfish and Corn Fritters with spicy bread and butter pickle remoulade. Second-course options include choice of Scallop Carbonara with house pancetta, pink peppercorns, and Romano; Lamb Kofta Salad with cous cous, cucumber, radish, harissa vinaigrette, mint, lemon, and tahini yogurt; Cold Smoked 5oz Filet with sweet potato dauphinoise, and truffle hollandaise. Third-course options include choice of King Cake Monkey Bread with almond, cinnamon, and Creole cream cheese; and Chocolate and Peanut ButterTorte with fluffed mudslide “sauce”. Pricing includes food only, and beverages will be charged separately.
