The Brunch Bunch

Between brunch and New Orleans, we’re not sure which entity is more popular these days. New Orleans continues to make waves nationally (and internationally) as a hotspot location for travel and destination weddings. As far as brunch (which is said to have been invented here in the city), we haven’t met anyone yet that doesn’t enjoy a mimosa or two (or bottomless) while dining at some of the city’s favorite eateries on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Recently, Seaworthy and Gris-Gris each announced a brunch menu. Not only can you dine at a great restaurant, but also, what group of women doesn’t love a reason to get together over breakfast foods? So, we suggest celebrating your bridesmaids, or even a bridal brunch for smaller parties of extended family and friends at these new brunch times.

Seaworthy is inside the popular Ace Hotel in the CBD. This new brunch locale gives brides and their posse the option of walking around the downtown neighborhoods or strolling over to the French Quarter. Menu items at Seaworthy include a breakfast sandwich with Andouille sausage, a crab cake and chile relleno. Bottomless cocktails are available, and they also have specialty drinks available for brunch.

Gris-Gris is quickly becoming many foodies’ favorite location. Like Seaworthy, Gris-Gris’ Magazine Street location allows for the ability to stroll down one of New Orleans’ favorite streets after stuffing yourself – like a lady – with blueberry bourbon pain perdu or chicken biscuits and gravy, among other items.

If you haven’t yet picked out the dress or bridesmaids dresses, brides and their parties can stroll to one of the handful of Magazine Street bridal boutique locations for hunting the perfect dress.
