The cast of the Broadway-bound new musical “A Wonderful World, A New Musical About The Life and Loves of Louis Armstrong” will arrive in New Orleans on Monday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. in classic New Orleans style, via second line! The cast will strut their way from Louis Armstrong Park down N. Rampart Street and into the Saenger Theatre to kick off rehearsals for their Broadway-bound show, which premieres here first in the Big Easy. The Saenger Theatre and Broadway in New Orleans presented by Entergy welcome the public to join the second line before joining the cast in the arcade for cocktails and small bites.
“A Wonderful World” tells the story of Armstrong’s rise to stardom and blazing musical career from the perspective of his four wives, who each had a unique impact on his life. The show will mirror Armstrong’s path to stardom, beginning here in New Orleans and debuting in Chicago before making its way to New York City. The show’s eight performances begin Oct. 1 and run through Oct. 8.
