NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Chef Alex Harrell and The Elysian Bar are excited to offer a special, à la carte Thanksgiving Day menu. This year, The Elysian Bar will lean on their family, engaging Elysian Bar and Hotel Peter & Paul staff members to round out the Thanksgiving Day Feast.
Chef Alex has requested and gathered recipes deeply rooted in his own team members’ family traditions. As the submissions trickled in from the team, hotel co-owner, Nathalie Jordi, shared, “The recipes are so fun to read. I did not grow up celebrating Thanksgiving, and by the time I show up, everything is already on the table – not complaining!”
Guests too can expect a full, delicious spread prepared by Harrell’s talented kitchen team. A few starters include a ‘Grandmother’s Cornbread topped with Pumpkin Butter’ and ‘Smoked Collard Green Gumbo.’ A ‘Cornbread Mushroom Dressing’, submitted by Hotel Peter & Paul’s Head of Security, will complement Chef Alex’s ‘Stuffed Turkey Breast Roulade.’
The menu truly reflects the diverse narrative and connection that the Hotel Peter & Paul and Elysian Bar families will bring to their proverbial ‘table.’ Chef Alex Harrell shared his inspiration for the idea saying, “I felt it was important to encourage staff participation because that’s the essence of the holiday – showing gratitude and appreciation for people we cherish, but also celebrating our rich and diverse traditions.”
Service on Thanksgiving Day will begin at 7 a.m., with Congregation coffee and Fall pastries made by Bacchanal Pastry Chef Bronwen Wyatt. From 10:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. guests will be able to order from the Thanksgiving Day menu, a la carte. The Elysian Bar’s regular menu will not be available this day.
