Kristi Walker always showed a natural aptitude for the art of spray tanning, impressing instructors early in her training and soon becoming one herself. For the next several years, Kristi traveled the country helping train others as well as honing her abilities in weekend classes. After arriving in New Orleans, Kristi parlayed word of mouth and an always-busy wedding industry to open Tanistry with a mission to turn body positivity into a lifestyle where clients embrace their own unique beauty.
“A lot of people with fair skin often look down on their complexion,” says Kristi. “With a simple fifteen-minute process, you wake up the next day feeling how you’ve looked all along, beautiful and confident.”
Focusing on subtle body contours that complement all shapes and skin tones, Tanistry is the kind of confidence boost we could all use, whether for a wedding, first date, or just to feel better about facing the workweek. A devoted volunteer in her spare time and mother of three, Kristi works planting trees with the NOLA Tree Project, helping to build houses with Habitat for Humanity, participates in the Hospice House Crawfish Cookout, and even hosts bi-yearly movie nights in the park for her neighbors.
