The Garden District Book Shop Hosts Launch for “Rainbow Fleur de Lis: Essays on Queer New Orleans History”

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Garden District Book Shop will host local author Frank Perez on May 29 to celebrate the release of his book “Rainbow Fleur de Lis: Essays on Queer New Orleans History.”

“Rainbow Fleur de Lis: Essays on Queer New Orleans History” is an anthology of 85 short, easy-to-read essays that originally appeared in Ambush Magazine and French Quarter Journal. Author Frank Perez has collected essays on a wide variety of topics in LGBTQ+ history and arranged them into multiple sections. Each section contains five essays and begins with a brief introductory overview that ties the individual pieces together.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. Perez will read passages from his book and then open up the floor for a Q&A. Afterwards, he will personalize copies of his book.

The event is free and open to the public but interested parties are encouraged to reserve their book ahead of time on Eventbrite.
