NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Garden District Book Shop announced TikTok sensation Rachel Coler Mulholland will be at the shop on Oct. 20 to discuss her new book “The Birds, the Bees, and the Elephant in the Room.”
Perfect for fans of the “How to Talk” series or Lisa Damour books, “The Birds, the Bees, and the Elephant in the Room” is an essential guide for talking to kids about sex and other sensitive topics. Whether you’re parenting teens, toddlers or anything in between, this book empowers caregivers by providing age-appropriate sex education and advice on navigating difficult conversations around bodies, consent, puberty and LGBTQ+ issues.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. Mullholland will be joined by Co-Founder and Chief of Schools, Crescent City Schools, Julie Lause. After their discussion they will open up the floor for a Q&A before Mullholland personalizes copies of “The Birds, the Bees, and the Elephant in the Room.” The event is free and open to the public but the shop encourages interested parties to reserve their book ahead of time on Eventbrite.
