The Gloriette Announces Seasonal Menu, Exclusive Wine Pairing Dinner

COVINGTON, La (press release) – The Gloriette, within Covington’s Southern Hotel, announced a new seasonal dinner menu and an exclusive five-course wine pairing dinner event under the direction of Executive Chef Alex Harrell.

The Gloriette’s latest seasonal menu reflects Chef Harrell’s approach to local and French-inspired cuisine. Standout dishes include Redfish “Fisherman Style” with fermented chili butter, crispy crab boil potatoes, grilled local broccoli, and preserved lemon ($36), Slow Roasted Duck Breast featuring farro, blackberries, marinated kale, and butternut squash ($40), and Braised Pork Cheeks accompanied by cornbread puree, preserved strawberries, and boiled peanut vinaigrette ($16).

Chef Harrell – who began his culinary career under the mentorship of Chef Susan Spicer and honed his craft at celebrated New Orleans establishments including Ralph’s on the Park, Elysian Bar and, most recently, the Commons Club at the Virgin Hotel New Orleans – will showcase his expertise during an intimate five-course wine pairing dinner on Friday, Nov. 22, from 7 to 10 p.m.
