The Heart and Soul of Giving

Blue and white gingham-draped tables and buffets on old cedar doors greeted guests with” a backyard, juke joint feel at Legacy Donor Foundation’s “Soul Revival 2011” on April 8.

The Tree of Life Bar, a circle bar with a lighted tree and hearts hanging from the branches, added to the backyard decoration. For cuisine, the Hilton provided down home favorites such as fried chicken, ribs, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and bread pudding. The A.G.N.O. Gospel Choir and Bobby and the Aristocrats provided entertainment for the night.

The live auction offered several great items including: a signed Drew Brees jersey, a week-long stay at the White House in Sandestin, Fla., paintings by George Dunbar and Ashley Longshore and more. Chairs of the event were Lindsey Powell Vodanovich and Katy Reily Roubion, and the honorary chair was M. Cleland Powell III. The event had a celebrity bar with guest bartenders including Sydney Torres, Jeremy Davenport, Mike Yenni, Better than Ezra’s Tom Drummond and Stacy Head, to name a few.
