NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Saturday, April 20, The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) will host a scavenger hunt to find the missing Louisiana Purchase.
Experience an adventure steeped in history and Masonic art while visiting some of New Orleans’s most interesting museums. Teams of up to five individuals will traverse the French Quarter to look for clues, complete challenges, solve puzzles and stop for drinks along the way in a race to find the stolen Louisiana Purchase.
This adventure is presented in conjunction with THNOC’s current exhibition Mystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art, a traveling exhibition by the American Folk Art Museum, and the museum’s companion exhibition A Mystic Brotherhood: Fraternal Orders of New Orleans.
Teams can register for $20 per team (up to five people). Individuals can register for $5 and will be placed on a team. All participants must be at least 21 years old. All proceeds will be donated to the French Quarter Museum Association.
WHEN: Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m.
WHERE: Teams will meet at THNOC at 520 Royal St in the French Quarter. This race will take about two and a half hours to complete. The total walking distance is up to 3.5 miles.
