The Lady is a Champ

New Orleans Magazine honors some of the most influential women in the city.

New Orleans Magazine held its annual “Top Female Achievers” luncheon on Thursday, July 22 at the W Hotel, with all proceeds going to Grace House.

The event honored the women selected and featured in the Magazine’s July issue: Karen Adjmi and Jackie Palumbo, co-founders and owners of Earthsavers; Julia Bland, executive director of Louisiana Children’s Museum; Mimi Bowen, entrepreneur and owner of Mimi’s; Katy Casbarian, co-proprietor of Arnaud’s and Remoulade restaurants; Banu Gibson, entertainer and musician; Soheila Nazarian Holley, senior project manager for Army Corps of Engineers; Dr. Mary Lupo, aesthetic and general dermatologist; Judy Reese Morse, chief of staff and a deputy mayor for the city of New Orleans; Echo Olander, executive director of KID smART; and Vera Warren Williams, entrepreneur and community activist.

Guests enjoyed complimentary champagne and wine courtesy of Republic Beverage Company, as well as a sit-down lunch provided by the W, featuring pan roasted chicken breast with wild mushroom risotto cake.

Staci Rosenberg, the founder and a captain of the Krewe of Muses, spoke to the crowd about the history of Muses and the significance of female achievement and recognition in the city.
