The Little Things

When registering for your wedding, not every item has to be big or extravagant or for the kitchen and bathroom. There are small, meaningful items you and your spouse-to-be can add to the list. New Orleans Bride Magazine gave a few of its favorite and best baubles for your registry in the recent Winter/Spring 2015 issue.

Though we love all of the items on the list, two are standout favorites.

The first gift is a cake server and fork set with engraved writing “Just Married” “I Do” and “Me Too.” Not only can you use this set on your actual wedding day, but also you can save the set for your first anniversary when it is tradition to eat the top layer of your wedding cake. Recreate the same moment from the wedding while using the same dinnerware. There are also some adorable decorative opportunities with this gift set. Once the use of the set is over, you can find a nice frame or a shadow box and display the set with other wedding mementoes.

Find the set by Mudpie from Auraluz linens, gifts and children’s clothing store in Metairie.

The second gift is a live painting of your wedding day. Growing in popularity, this oil painting is done on site during the wedding. Pictures and video will help you remember specifics, but not everyone can say they have a work of art representation of the day they said “I Do.” Heirloom Live Event Painting and Alex Harvie can bring an artful twist to your wedding.
