Today, patients choose The Fertility Institute of New Orleans because they have access to one of Louisiana’s most experienced fertility programs, combining nationally recognized physicians, advanced reproductive technologies, and personalized care, all within one practice.
Founded in 1976 by Dr. Richard Dickey as Louisiana’s first fertility practice, The Fertility Institute welcomed Louisiana’s first IVF baby and has since helped achieve more than 21,060 pregnancies, establishing a foundation of excellence that continues to guide the practice today.
The Fertility Institute is led by Medical Director Warren “Jay” Huber, M.D., Ph.D., alongside Peter Lu, M.D., Nicole Ulrich, M.D., and Ronald Clisham, M.D., all board-certified reproductive endocrinologists and infertility specialists. Board certification reflects the highest standards of education, training, and expertise in reproductive medicine, giving patients confidence that they are receiving care from physicians dedicated exclusively to diagnosing and treating infertility. Every one of the practice’s reproductive endocrinologists has also been recognized as a Top Doctor, an honor that reflects the respect of their peers and their longstanding commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient care. Together, they provide expertise across the full spectrum of reproductive medicine, including fertility evaluation, IVF, fertility preservation, recurrent pregnancy loss, ovulatory disorders, and male and female infertility.
Their collaborative approach allows patients to benefit from the collective knowledge and experience of an accomplished physician team, ensuring that every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s medical needs, goals, and family building journey.
The practice’s comprehensive approach is further strengthened by Stacey Scheib, M.D., a fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon (MIGS), whose expertise in treating endometriosis, fibroids, and other gynecologic conditions complements the fertility care provided by the reproductive endocrinologists. Together with Erin Cheneval, FNP, an experienced embryology laboratory team, and a dedicated group of nurses and clinical professionals, our physicians provide coordinated, compassionate, and seamless care throughout every stage of their family-building journey.
Choosing a fertility practice is one of the most important decisions a patient can make. At The Fertility Institute, patients benefit from individualized treatment plans, advanced reproductive technology, and a collaborative team committed to providing the expertise, education, and compassionate support needed to make informed decisions with confidence. Whether beginning fertility treatment, considering fertility preservation, or exploring IVF, patients can expect care that is personalized, innovative, and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.
As The Fertility Institute celebrates its 50th anniversary, the focus remains firmly on the future. The team continues to advance reproductive medicine, expand treatment options, and help more individuals and couples build the families they envision.
