This weekend might be Deep Gras, but Saturday is also Valentine’s Day. While many revelers will be catching beads on the route, some might opt for a night at one of our many romantic restaurants – or plan a raincheck dinner night once Mardi Gras has concluded.
Bouligny Tavern
Bouligny is one of our favorites. It’s small, the lighting is perfect for a romantic night and they only play music from their record player.
Lilette
Bouligny’s neighbor is also a romantic spot with delicious food. It’s a staple for couples and even good enough for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Super Bowl weekend.
Cure
Cure doesn’t usually pop up on “most romantic” lists, but we think people just don’t give it enough credit. Amazing cocktails, atmosphere a 10/10 – perfect combination. Even better if paired with any of Freret Street’s other eateries.
N7
We couldn’t make a list and not put N7. All the romance and courtyard atmosphere. If it’s nice outside, this spot is a no-brainer.
Jewel of the South
This doesn’t really need an explanation. We’ll go to Jewel of the South for any occassion.
The Elysian Bar
The different rooms give off a different vibe, the bar is a gorgeous red and the mix of furniture and fabric (the drapery!) paired with delicious cocktails and small bites is a winning combo.
MaMou
Keeping with the French theme we’ve had going so far, MaMou is another perfect choice. The modern brasserie has the most gorgeous dining room that has flowers hanging from the ceiling and few seats, making it cozy and romantic all while serving show-stopping food.
Zasu
Two words: Michelin Star.
It’s worth your Valentine’s Day celebration for all the right reasons.
