Ochsner proved that Pink is always the way to go on October 21st when it held its annual “Ochsner Goes Pink Gala” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The gala, held at Le Foret restaurant, raised proceeds for the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center at Ochsner and brought together an estimated 350 supporters clad in pink in celebration for the cause.
Among pink enthusiasts was the country’s top modern mixologist, Tony Abou-Ganim, who kicked off the evening with specialty cocktails made just for the occasion. Tents pitched along Camp Street hovered over candlelit tables draped in hot-pink linens. Guests with a hankering for the evening breeze lingered outdoors, while inside, ivory and light pink accents were sprinkled throughout the restaurant. In the kitchen, superstar chefs John Besh, Susan Spicer, Dominique Macquet, Frank Brunacci, Tommy Andrade and Jean-Luc Albin cooked up mouth-watering dishes. All the while, the groove of the Mark Brooks Sextet set the tone for an evening of dancing underneath the stars.
Together, supporters of Ochsner raised over $350,000 for the organization. Proceeds will help to allow Ochsner to uphold its mission to “Serve, Heal, Lead, Educate and Innovate.”
