The Registry Game

In a recent Bridal Buzz roundup, we announced the official launch of The Knot’s new registry platform. On Aug. 5, The Knot launched a registry store for couples paired with thousands of products and connected to many popular big-box stores like Bed Bath & Beyond and Target.

“As one of the most anticipated experiences of wedding planning, creating a wedding registry is still a priority for couples planning during COVID-19, with most of our couples adding a mix of products, cash funds, experiences and charity components to their wish lists,” said Kristen Maxwell Cooper, editor-in-chief of The Knot, in a press release about the launch. “Based on our analysis from millions of weddings and decades of expertise, we launched The Knot Registry Store, a complement to our existing registry platform, that provides inspiration from curated collections and a digital store full of thousands of handpicked products for couples to add to their registries and guests to buy, all in one place.”

The couple can go onto the platform, pick their products, link with other store’s online registries and register for cash, honeymoon experiences or to give to charities of their choice in place of a physical gift. Many of the gifts are easy to find in product collections. These collections include “Most-Wanted Gifts,” “Budget-Friendly Picks,” “Kitchen Must-Haves” and so forth to make it easy for the couple to find all of the items they need. Once guest start buying from the registry, it keeps track of purchases from the couple’s list making it easy to stay organized and fill out thank you notes once the wedding is over.

Additionally, everything can be displayed in one place with a free wedding website also from The Knot. A wedding website, especially with social distancing and the uncertainty brought forth by the pandemic, can be an essential tool for organizing wedding information and giving out of town guests a place for their own trip planning.

After looking through the registry ourselves, everything seems easy, user-friendly and organized for the couple – which is something everyone could use amid COVID chaos – and it’s free.

The only thing that could make this better would be a New Orleans-themed section of gifts with links to Fleurty Girl, Adler’s, Mignon Faget and more to give every couple a little piece of the Big Easy.
