NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is celebrating after Food & Wine’s Global Tastemakers named its Sazerac Bar the No. 2 hotel bar in the United States!
More than 180 food and travel journalists contributed to the Global Tastemakers list, and rankings were determined by an expert panel of judges.
Last year, the Sazerac Bar was named #1 Hotel Bar in the USA for a sixth time by the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards and the hotel netted the #1 Hotel for the Holidays by the same readers. The bar is known as much for its art deco interior and illustrious list of past guests as for its namesake Sazerac and Ramos Gin Fizz – a favorite of Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long who was said to have built Airline Highway in order to have a straight shot from the governor’s mansion in Baton Rouge to The Roosevelt.
