We talk a great deal about gifts on “Let Them Eat Cake” because they are a big part of a wedding – gifts for the couple, something for your bridesmaids, mothers of the couple — the list goes on. As wedding season ramps up, The Knot – magazine and online wedding resource website – released its annual Registry Awards.
The Knot uses its guide to the most popular gifts among their couples and their editors to help ease the stress of couples navigating the registry process. While creating the annual registry awards, The Knot considers several things. First, the most registered products on The Knot Registry Store are analyzed. Of note, there was a significant increase in registries created in the first three months of 2021 than in the last few months of 2020.
In a press release about the awards, The Knot said this year’s registries are still reflecting how lives have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Housewares and home-focused cash funds along with gift cards have gained in popularity and remain at a higher demand than before the pandemic started, with gift cards to the Home Depot being the most registered for item on The Knot Registry Store in 2021.
The top items among couples include the KitchenAid Artisan Series 5 Qt. Stand Mixer, Nautica Belle Haven 6-Piece Bath Towel Set, OXO Good Grips POP 20-Piece Food Storage Set, Roomba E5 WiFi Enabled Robotic Vacuum and Rachael Ray Cucina 10-Piece Non-Stick Bakeware Set.
“Engaged couples, and their wedding guests, are eagerly anticipating the return of large celebrations where they can once again safely celebrate surrounded by loved ones,” said Lauren Kay, executive editor of The Knot, in a press release about the awards list. “As more couples than ever before are in the thick of wedding planning right now, registering is one step of the planning process that can feel overwhelming. We’re excited to share our curated list of top registry products to guide all couples through creating a registry that will help kick-start their newlywed lives together, whatever that may look like.”
The Knot editor’s choice is Philips Hue Smart Lighting and the top cash fund request is for Pet Adoption.
Building a registry can seem like a daunting task. Sites like The Knot make those tasks a little easier and scanning lists like their registry awards gives couple’s an idea of what they may need, what they can register for on local sites and other options if they are already in an established household.
