NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Vintage Restaurant and Café has introduced its first ever signature line of coffee, featuring coffee beans that are hand-selected and sustainably harvested in countries across the world and transported back to New Orleans where they are thoughtfully roasted in small batches to create the perfect cup. The new blends and varieties will be officially unveiled and celebrated at The Vintage’s New Orleans and Baton Rouge locations in celebration of National Coffee Day on Sunday, Sept. 29.
“We are serious about coffee at The Vintage,” said OnePack Hospitality Group CEO Bernard Stolberg. “Our award-winning team of New Orleans cuisine and coffee experts has spent years personally traveling, tasting, blending and hand-roasting every coffee bean to ensure the best experience for our guests with the lowest impact to our planet. Just as our food shows our Louisiana pride, we know the meaning of a well-crafted cup of coffee.”
The Vintage signature coffee line starts with responsibly sourced and traceable green coffee, shipped back to New Orleans, where it is hand-roasted in small batches every day. Over 120 million people worldwide rely on coffee for their livelihoods, and 80 percent live in poverty despite the rising price of retail coffee. The Vintage participates in a first-of-its-kind Living Income Pricing initiative that ensures a sustainable livelihood for farmers beyond any certification program currently in practice. They place an emphasis on traceability and purchasing most coffees using living income pricing.
The line includes two flagship varieties: The Vintage Gold Blend (a breakfast mainstay) and The Vintage Espresso. Single origin specialty coffees include La Orquidea from Colombia, a lighter-roasted coffee with a citrus acidity and notes of chocolate, and the darker Asproguate blend from Guatemala with creamy notes of brown sugar, chocolate, floral and honey. A third premium blend from Ethiopia, Sidamono, is the lightest mixed variety with notes of berry, green tea, florals and chocolate.
The Vintage’s parent company, OnePack Hospitality Group, also includes beloved staples of the local culinary scene, including the Legacy Kitchen Collection and Crack’D Brunch Restaurant.
“We are thrilled to introduce this to The Vintage in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, as well as other restaurants in the OnePack family – and beyond!” said Sarah Slater, The Vintage’s general manager and coffee program lead. “We are going the extra mile – literally – to find the very best for our guests. Whether you’re a neighborhood regular or a traveler to the area, The Vintage will never send you home without a perfect cup of coffee.”
In October, the restaurant will release The Vintage Signature Louisiana Art Series. This collaborative effort with a local artist will feature previously unreleased artwork available for retail at The Vintage and the artist’s gallery as well as exclusively at select retail locations.
