The National World War II Museum’s splendid IberiaBank Victory Ball took place on June 4, with an inspiring theme titled “The Legacy of Women in WWII: We Did It!” The annual fundraiser goes toward local and national educational outreach. With recent additions to the museum’s campus, the event has never been better.

A patron party sponsored by Superior Energy Services, Inc. gathered together the night’s sponsors and special guests in the American Sector Restaurant. At the main event, Honorary Chair Phyllis Taylor, with co-chairs Rita Benson LeBlanc and Brandon and Daphne Berger, led the black tie optional affair attended by approximately 600 guests; one of whom was Senator Elizabeth Dole, the 2010 Silver Service Medallion Honoree. Chef John Besh delighted all with a three-course feast fit for kings in the Louisiana Memorial Pavilion. The space glowed with amber lighting, highlighting the warm gold and copper decor decked with copious floral arrangements.

Dessert and dancing, thanks to sponsor Otto Candies, L.L.C., capped off the evening with live entertainment by the Tip Tops in the exciting Stage Door Canteen. This year’s Victory Ball raised more than $400,000! All in all, it was a successful evening that would surely have made Rosie the Riveter proud.
