Shotgun House Tour

The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans will take sightseers on a tour of the Faubourg St. John’s classic shotgun houses, as well as their headquarters, the Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Kids’ Hoops

Coaches and athletes from the NCAA will teach free clinics for New Orleans youths at the Alario Center (2000 Segnette Blvd., Westwego) and the Tulane University Reily Center (2531 Calhoun St.) on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The “Hoops Clinics” will coincide with the “Final Four Dribble,” during which participants dribble from Champions Square to the Convention Center. Dancing at Dixon

The Newcomb Dance Company will put on its annual Evening of Dance concert FRiday through Sunday at Dixon Hall on Tulane University (Newcomb Place and Zimple Street). Faculty choreographers inform the staging by Yugoslavian-born Stevan Novakovich. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $12.

Fête Française

École Bilingue (821 General Pershing St.) presents its annual Fête Française, the “only French Festival in New Orleans,” on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Celebrating French language and culture ­– as well as the city’s French heritage – the theme for this year’s festival is “Bleu, Blanc, Rouge.”

A Scavenger Hunt, with a Twist

Teams of four to six will scour the French Quarter on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., tracking down tequila chickens, samurai swords, mullets and other staples of Big Easy livin’, while singing karaoke, learning Russian history and chasing the occasional movie star or nudist. Tickets are $35 (plus $10 for the after-party) and proceeds go to the Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s Kohlmeyer Circle. The race starts and ends at the Bourbon Pub (801 Bourbon St.).
