Yes, it’s warm outside but there are still fleeting moments in the evening when the temps are tolerable enough to host an outdoor gathering. If you’ve been thinking about doing so, now’s the time. Because, let’s be honest, there are only a few weeks (days?) left of tenable outdoor socializing weather. Call the neighbors over for supper al fresco, host a grown-up pool party or simply serve cocktails on the porch before heading to an AC-filled restaurant. But, whatever you do, do it soon!
If you do decide to host a gathering, consider this low key party décor hack. Simply pick a color and run with it. Yep, that’s it. As an example, I picked Barbie pink to model how easy it is to execute. Pink is fun and youthful (plus the Barbie movie is about to come out and I clearly can’t contain my excitement) but any color will do. If you already have, for example, a set of purple napkins, work around that. Grab a bottle of crème de violette and make a lilac toned signature cocktail like The Aviation. Then pick up bunches of hydrangeas and sprinkle in anything else in a similar hue from around the house (vases, serving dishes, candles) and you’re all set. Now, get outside but stay cool.
