NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Tickets are now on sale for New Orleans’ most anticipated, fun-filled philanthropic events: Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do and Zoo-To-Do for Kids presented by Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Tickets to both events are available for purchase by clicking here or by calling the ticket hotline at (504) 861-5107.
Both events will celebrate Audubon’s conservation efforts for whooping cranes, an endangered species that neared extinction in the 1940s. Audubon has long been a leader in conservation of these majestic birds and continues to work on their behalf through the Alliance for Sustainable Wildlife (ASW), Audubon’s conservation breeding partnership with San Diego Zoo Global. Audubon recently expanded its efforts from breeding and egg production to include also rearing and releasing into the Louisiana wild flock.
“While our Zoo-To-Do fundraisers offer a wonderful opportunity to have a good time, it’s important to remember that they have a purpose,’’ said Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman. “This year, we are focused on whooping cranes and our conservation efforts and partnerships around the long-term growth of this endangered species.”
Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do, celebrating its 43rd anniversary in 2020, is set for Friday, May 1. General admission begins at 8 p.m., and the party goes until midnight. Hancock Whitney Bank is once again the Title Sponsor for the adults-only black-tie gala event that features an array of high-end cuisine and premium cocktails from local establishments.
“Hancock Whitney proudly supports Audubon Nature Institute and its efforts to preserve and protect nature,” said Hancock Whitney Regional President Gary Lorio. “We are proud to partner again on Hancock Whitney Zoo-to-Do, the premier party in New Orleans that will help conservation efforts at Audubon Zoo focused on the majestic whooping crane.”
The New Orleans Pelicans are sponsoring this year’s Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do Patron Party. Admission to this area begins at 7 p.m., offering access to the gala event as well. Party band the Atlanta Showstoppers will perform on Capital One Bank Stage, with Water Seed opening. Other performers include Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers at Cooper Plaza and the Cajun Music Preservation Society at the gala entrance.
Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do guests can take a chance on the 2020 Zoo-To-Do Luxury Vehicle Raffle, which features a 2020 Lexus UX200, worth $35,053, that was generously donated by LEXUS of New Orleans.
