What is your profession?
Vice President of Adler’s.
Why do you do what you do?
It’s the family business! I started working in the store at the age of 12 and kept coming back every summer to work. I enjoy helping people find the right thing for themselves or others.
What are your favorite trends of the season?
Trends are fun, but I think classic pieces are always in fashion. Diamond studs, diamond hoop earrings, a classic watch – you can’t go wrong with those. Find what works for you and stick with it!
If you had to pick one item, what’s your favorite?
I have worn the same lapis ring since I was 15. It belonged to my great grandfather.
Which famous person would you most like to accessorize?
Michelle Obama.
Who are your three greatest professional inspirations and why?
The Founders of the Christian Woman’s Exchange. They imparted change in this city long before women had the right to vote or own property. And they did it in long dresses and corsets! Author Helen Gurley Brown; her desk was messier than mine is. VOGUE’s Anna Wintour.
If you didn’t do what you do, what would you be?
I would be a high school band director.
