Bonnaroo
Once again its time to head up to the Farm for another installment of Bonnaroo. This year will feature headlining sets from Muse, EMINEM and The Killers. You can also expect a late night set from Bon Iver and command performances from the likes of Sylvan Esso, First Aid Kit and Alt-J. As usual there are some great up and coming bands playing as well. This will be the first go around for The Blue Stones, Arlie and and flor. Also a few established international artists like Noura Mint Seymali will be along for the ride as well. Make sure to keep your eyes here for daily updates and photos from the festival. There is still plenty of time to make it up to the farm. Grab a ticket and pack the trunk.
If you insist on staying home, you can catch the livestream of shows on Twitter at the link below. This year the festival is streaming Muse, Alt-J, Nile Rogers, LANY, Moon Taxi and more.
Belle and Sebastian
On Monday night Glaswegian baroque pop legends Belle and Sebastian will head into the Civic with Men I Trust. The Scottish ensemble are touring behind their excellent three EP set How to Solve Our Human Problems. Belle and Sebastian are one of the most exciting live bands I have ever seen. They do a fantastic job both of pulling songs from their extensive back catalog and of incorporating new material in meaningful ways. You cannot help but be swept up in their enthusiasm. Check out the video for “Poor Boy” below.
