to-dos for your “I Dos”

9 tips – from shoes to smiles – to keep you heading in the right direction as your big day approaches.

1.
4-6 months before your wedding make sure to finalize your honeymoon plans and that your documents are up-to-date.

2.
Shop for the perfect piece (or pieces) of lingerie for your wedding night. Keep it a secret or tempt your fiancé with a glimpse to keep him picturing you in it all wedding day long.

3.
Remember to take as good care of your teeth as you are of your makeup. Whether you have them professionally cleaned or use over-the-counter whitening strips, all eyes will be on your and your beatific smile.

4.
2-3 months before the big day have a dress rehearsal of your hair and makeup (Don’t forget your veil!) to increase your – and your stylists’ – comfort level and decrease surprises!

5.
Don’t forget to break in the shoes you’ll be wearing to walk down the aisle! The last thing you want is to have pinched toes or slip and fall in front of all your family and guests.

6.
Seal the tips for your wedding-day helpers in marked envelopes. If you set the money aside beforehand, you’ll be sure to have the right amounts for everyone, not leave anyone out and not have to scramble at the last minute.

7.
One week before the wedding, write thank-you cards to your parents and your in-laws to give them at your wedding. They will appreciate your heartfelt words and you won’t have to worry about including everything you want to say in your toast.

8.
Create a wedding-day emergency kit. Safety pins, a needle and thread, double-sided tape, toothbrush, Band-Aids, hairpins, a mini hairspray bottle and deodorant, are all good necessities to include.

9.
Make sure to pack your sense of humor. Things won’t always go as planned, both during your wedding and in your life. If you can laugh, things will go much smoother.
