On March 22, Jefferson Beautification supporters spent a spring evening at the home of Jennifer and Kenny Rabalais as a preview to the Omni Bank “Parkway Promenade XVI.” The more than 200 patron party guests sampled delectable food by Vega Tapas Café and Chop’s Bistro & Martini Bar, and enjoyed live entertainment by the Last Straws. (The photos shown here are from this party.)
The “Parkway Promenade”—with the theme “Spring into Action”—was held April 1 at the Oakland Plantation Estates in Kenner. About 600 guests attended the late afternoon garden party, which featured live music by Bobby Cure & the Summertime Blues. Amidst the tunes—and libations from three local beverage purveyors—attendees dined on food from 36 fantastic local restaurants.
More than $120,000 was raised from both events, including funds from the live and silent auctions. At the gala, Henry and Pat Shane led the live auction, with items ranging from original works by Bill Hemmerling—creator of the 2005 Jazz Fest poster—to a pearl and diamond necklace donated by Aucoin Hart Jewelers.
