When a bride thinks of their wedding day look, attire isn’t the only piece of the larger “what to wear” puzzle. With 2022 looking promising (so far), we are curious to see where wedding trends are headed now that we are learning how to better navigate living with the coronavirus. (Kelly here: it’s still super important to note that the pandemic is still impacting our local community and beyond. Mask up, make safe choices and get your vaccines!)
This week, we asked Ashley Love, owner of Glam NOLA, what she is seeing with her clients when it comes to hair trends for 2022.
- What hair trends do we think will be big in 2022?
We think that the effortless ‘undone’ look has been really popular so far for 2022.
- What have been popular styles for brides recently?
Party ponytails, effortless top knots and messy updos with a boho braid in the mix have definitely been our biggest requests from our brides.
- Do you notice if hair trends change with seasons or weather?
We find that when it’s hot and humid, it’s always best to go with an updo. Brides don’t have to worry as much about their hair during those summer months when they incorporate an updo that wears well with the heat.
- How should a bride prepare her hair before her Big Day?
Day old hair always stylists best but not if your hair tends to get too oily. When in doubt just wash and air dry your hair. There are amazing products now that can give the texture needed to create your desired look.
- What is important for brides to know when trying to book hair professionals for their weddings?
Always check out your stylist’s portfolio and make sure you love what you see. Be sure to do a trial run if you are contemplating a hairstyle you’ve never done before!
