NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Toups South, located in New Orleans’ Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB), is inviting diners and imbibers to celebrate Amanda Toups’ 40th birthday with a spectacular brunch soirée featuring drag performers, delicious food and free-flowing mimosas on Sunday, July 28. Brunch reservations begin at noon; The Drag Queen show will take place 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m..
Join native New Orleanian and culinary activist, Poppy Tooker, along with CrescentCare–NO/AIDS Task Force, and host Laveau Contraire for “Poppy’s Pop-Up Drag Brunch.” The celebratory brunch will support Food For Friends – a meal-delivery program, which has served people living with AIDS and cancer in the greater New Orleans area for over two decades. The organization supplies groceries, household/personal care products, and home-delivered meals to clients and their families. Drag sensations in attendance will include Cucci Licci, Mistie Bonét, Franky, and Ladi Phat Kat.
Priced at $55 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), the festive brunch will include bottomless mimosas paired with refined southern fare by James Beard “Best Chef: South” finalist, Chef Isaac Toups. The three-course brunch menu follows:
