Trends We Love: Blue Hour, Burgundy & Chartreuse and Louisiana Vibes

There is no shortage of places to find wedding inspiration. As the internet and social media continue to grow, countless brides share their ideas with the masses. Occasionally, certain aspects catch on and creativity blossoms. There are a few trending topics we are currently loving, as well as one more local idea we hope catches on.

We’ve heard of golden hour and how amazing it can be as a backdrop and lighting aid to photographers and their muses. But a new trend taking off is blue hour photography. While golden hour incorporates golds, oranges, pinks and more warm-toned hues; blue hour gives the couple a bit more of a moody, cool-toned option for their photos.

Golden hour is captured in the hours before sunset or after sunrise, and blue hour is when the sun is just past the horizon – so a few minutes after sunset or before sunrise, when the sky turns a soft blue with a cool and calmness attached to it.

What draws people to blue hour is the more ethereal and storytelling aspect to the look. It also pairs well with photography styles like motion blur or direct flash. But while this gives photos more emotion or drama, this time of day is very specific and you could blink and miss it. There is about a 20-40 minute window to capture the perfect backdrop. Therefore, picking the right photographer for your vision is key.

Burgundy & Chartreuse

There are some musings around the internet and social media about how each generation has specific wedding colors and items that set it as an identity of the time. This is particularly true for the 2010’s it seems – we’re looking at you grey and yellow.

As 2025 ended and 2026 unfolds, it’s looking like the year, or time period, could have its own defining colors: burgundy and chartreuse.

If any year or timeframe is going to be defined by a set of colors, at least these are interesting. Chartreuse has been having a moment across the board from fashion to home decor and it really lends itself as a nice pop to the contrasting deep burgundy for event decor.

My college graduation should have been one of the happiest days of my life. Instead, my father, now in his 43rd year of incarceration,...

While there are always different shades or interpretations the idea of a deep burgundy, less pinkish, and a chartreuse that is tart and bright is a simply gorgeous combination. It also, in our opinion, bodes well for both fall and spring or summer weddings. Make burgundy the main star for autumn and fall or switch it up with chartreuse stepping forward during spring and summer.

Louisiana Vibes

Not exactly trending, but we recently saw a video on social media that we hope grows in popularity. The video was of (what we think is) the bride holding a sign that read:
“Dearest Seasoned Saints (yes, you dead), At approximately 7 p.m. we will begin to pay homage to our era by way of cash money taking ova 4 da 99 & 2000, lil boosie bad azz and New Orleans Bounce. We will shake shiggy shiggy shiggy shake, bounce and twerk. The dance floor may not be the safest place for you during that time, so we encourage you to have a seat, eat and talk amongst yourselves. We appreciate your consideration.”

The world could be on literal fire and if you play “Back That A** Up” or “Set It Off” there is no stopping the Louisiana that eventually comes out of even the most demure of us all. But remove the rap or Millennial of it, for us, it’s just another way to show pride in where you originate. Either way, we support the message of letting your elders know that the dance floor is about to become dangerous. Gerd your loins!
