Trends We Love: Kaleidoscope Colors, Dramatic Drapery and Man’s Best Friend

It’s the start of the year and new wedding trends are popping up across social media. As always, there are a few we love and some we don’t.

First, we recently saw the most adorable way “man’s best friend” was incorporated into a couple’s big day and this is absolutely a trend we can get behind.

It can be difficult to include your fur-child into your wedding, we’ve even written about it in the past, but one couple decided that not only would their dog be there for photos – sporting its own flower collar to match the bouquets – but he would also be the first to congratulate his parents once they were officially husband and wife. A friend of the couple held the dog and after the first kiss and officiant announcement, the dog ran down the aisle (after some stops along the rows of guests) to get pets and kisses from the couple. The photos are adorable and what a better way to incorporate your pet if they are already attending the ceremony?

Another trend gaining traction is what some are calling “kaleidoscope colors.” This trend involves incorporating an array of colors – like a kaleidoscope – throughout your wedding plans from linens to florals. The other day we spoke on the 2025 Color of the Year – Mocha Mousse – and we believe this trend, paired with the color of the year, is as good a winning combo as the couple who decides to use it.

The final trend for today is one that we’ve mentioned in 2025 trending lists before, but now is getting its own moment – dramatic drapery. Couples can use this style as a way to elevate any space, especially those that might be lacking a little flair or architecture. Some couples have used this throughout their ceremony space or specifically around where the couple stands. It adds a dramatic element, but is also a simple, chic decor option.
