Tropic Like It’s Hot! Bartender Takeover Wraps Up at Bywater American Bistro 8/25

 

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Bywater American Bistro (BABs), the award-winning eatery from James Beard “Best Chef: South” Nina Compton and Chef/Partner Levi Raines, is wrapping up its Summer Guest Bartender Series with Tropic Like It’s Hot on Sunday, Aug. 25. From 8 p.m. – 10 p.m., BABs will welcome Denzel Brown behind the bar for an evening of creative tiki-inspired cocktails and conversation.

Brown, who was previously a bartender at Compère Lapin, is currently showcasing his talents at both Thalia and Longway Tavern. Imbibers can enjoy Brown’s Lei Low – Manzanilla Sherry, PX, lime, Triple Sec and orgeat, garnished with a hibiscus flower and Ango; 1245 Punch – Clement Agricole, guava-chocolate mint-mustard seed cordial and lime, garnished with a chocolate mint leaf; and Au Revoir – Diplomatico Planas, Dolin Blank, Spiced Grenadine, orange bitters, Absinthe rinse and garnished with thyme oil. Of course, guests can also enjoy cocktails from recently-appointed BABs head bartender Rick Powanda.

Bywater American Bistro is located in the Rice Mill Lofts at 2900 Chartres Street in New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood. The restaurant serves dinner, Wednesday – Sunday with seating from 5PM – 10PM and brunch, Saturdays and Sundays with seating from 10:30AM – 2PM.Happy Hour is available at the bar, Wednesday – Sunday, 5PM – 6PM.
