After a successful run at the New Orleans World’s Fair, the original Tropical Isle® opened December 15, 1984 as a small bar on Toulouse Street. Singer-guitarist Al Miller (known as “the Cajun Jimmy Buffet”) was hired to lure tourists from Bourbon Street with his Trop-Rock music. Soon after, the Hand Grenade® was invented. This magical, melon flavored blend of liqueurs and secret ingredients became an instant hit! The Tropical Isle® chain now includes 5 nightclubs and the Orleans Grapevine Wine Bar & Bistro. Signature drinks include the Hand Grenade®, Tropical Itch®, Horny Gator® & Shark Attack®. Visit TropicalIsle.com.
