Turning Tables Receives Another Round Another Rally Rally for Tomorrow Sustainability Grant

PHOENIX, Az (press release) – Another Round Another Rally is proud to unveil the recipients of its inaugural Rally for Tomorrow Sustainability Grants. The grants, sponsored by Bar World of Tomorrow, BarSmarts and Pernod Ricard USA, recognize three remarkable organizations poised to make a measurable impact on, not only on the environment, but the service industry at-large.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, this year’s recipients represent the future of sustainability in the bar community and will use the funds to expand existing environmental and human-centered sustainability efforts – and implement new ones.

“We’re thrilled to announce our Rally for Tomorrow grant winners and honor these efforts that promote eco-friendly practices and fair treatment industrywide,” said Another Round Another Rally’s CEO Amanda Gunderson. “We’re also tremendously grateful for the support of our sponsors, Bar World of Tomorrow, BarSmarts and Pernod Ricard USA, without whom this would not have been possible. We have no doubt that by investing in these initiatives, we’re not only investing in the people and projects of today, but also planting the seeds for a more sustainable and equitable spirits industry tomorrow.”

This year’s Rally for Tomorrow sustainability grant winners are as follows.

  • Turning Tables, a Greater New Orleans-based nonprofit that advocates for sustainability and equity in the hospitality industry, secured $25,000 to help finance its innovative “Earn and Learn” workforce development program. The program assists aspiring Black and Brown beverage professionals from marginalized groups with technical training, networking, externships and job placement and educates them about smart sourcing, waste reduction and other industry-specific sustainable practices. Grant funds will also go toward expanding the sustainability initiatives between Turning Tables and  Glass Half Full, financing childcare, affordable health care resources, mental health and other support services for both current students and alumni, and broadening the reach of the Bystander and De-escalation Training it offers in conjunction with safe bars.
  • SAFE Bar Network, a National nonprofit, scored $15,000 to pilot a project to expand its programming focused on preventing overconsumption, harassment, and other forms of harm in Chicago with alcohol-serving establishments led by women and BIPOC hospitality professionals.
  • Roc LA’s Culinary Hospitality Opportunities for Workers (CHOW) Institute secured $10,000 in grant funding to enhance its professional workforce development training for front- and back-of-house employees. This funding supports CHOW’s mission of helping hospitality professionals secure higher-paying, higher-prestige positions, and it also enables CHOW to add a new sustainability course to its curriculum. Alongside skills development, mentorship and job placement support, CHOW Institute partners with the State University of New York (SUNY), offering participants college credit in exchange for work experience.

Rally for Tomorrow’s Sustainability Grants are the latest in a series of efforts aimed at enhancing sustainability and enacting positive change within the service industry. Through this initiative, Another Round Another Rally aims to unite like minded professionals, inspire collaboration and educate people and businesses about equitable and eco-conscious practices.
