Warehouse District hotspot Republic hosted an evening of champagne wishes on December 29 for the annual Uncork the Cure event, benefitting the Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The theme was “An Evening of Classic Hollywood Glam,” and guests certainly were putting on the ritz as they strolled down the rep carpet, flashbulbs blazing as photographers, acting as faux-paparazzi, snapped pictures before they entered the main event. Party patrons were invited to sip different kinds of bubbly at a champagne and sparkling wine tasting, provided by Glazer’s and Partner’s Wine, aimed at helping guests choose the perfect New Years Eve cocktail. Entercom, Limousine Livery, Ochsner Health System and Eureka Mortgage were among the sponsors for the evening. The venue was packed from wall to wall with the more than 200 supporters, who dined on light bites from Vega Tapas, La Cote Brasserie and Chops Bistro. Jeremy Davenport ensured people danced the night away with his musical entertainment. Nearly $25,000 was raised from Uncork the Cure, all of which benefitted the Louisiana Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, whose aim is to diagnose, treat and eventually cure patients with the crippling illness.
