NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The University of Holy Cross (UHC) and Archdiocese of New Orleans Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation signed a new three-year collaborative agreement that will allow juniors and seniors from authorized Catholic high schools to participate in dual enrollment classes at UHC.
To be eligible for the dual enrollment offerings, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and meet UHC’s dual enrollment admission requirements outlined on the UHC dual enrollment webpage.
Dual enrollment course offerings available include classes in Mathematics, English, History, Biology, Food Science, Physics, Chemistry, Accounting, Business, Psychology, Philosophy, Spanish, Sociology, Speech and Theology.
UHC dual enrollment courses will cost $150 per UHC course up to 11 credit hours/semester for high schools students within the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
The new agreement was announced and signed by UHC President Dr. Stanton F. McNeely III, and Superintendent of Catholic Schools Dr. RaeNell Houston.
“One of our ongoing goals at the University of Holy Cross is to retain the brightest minds in the New Orleans community,” said UHC President McNeely. “This new agreement with the Archdiocese of New Orleans will allow juniors and seniors to get an early start on their college careers and keep them engaged in education and turn them into productive members of our New Orleans community.”
“As we continue to encourage life-long learning and faith formation amongst our Catholic school students, we want to ensure they have options to challenge their intellect,” said Dr. Houston. “We are pleased to be able to offer this option to area Catholic high school students who choose to pursue it.”
The deadline for high school seniors interested in participating in the dual enrollment program for the fall semester is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020.
