If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed by the fact that Mardi Gras Day is only about a month away (i.e., your Christmas tree is still fully decorated and lit up in your living room), you’re not alone. I keep vacillating between all out Mardi Gras denial and bursts of anticipatory excitement. To bypass any anxiety and keep the positive feelings easily accessible, I’ve been perusing Carnival-themed headbands, headdresses and headpieces. This will wake you right up from your post-holiday doldrums.
There are so many local makers who really shine during Carnival season. Every boutique seems to have a pop-up or guest creator adorning their shelves with fun, handmade pieces. In addition to shopping directly through a local vendor, there are also slews of Carnival markets and workshops (like Nola Craft Culture ) around town to scratch your creative itch. Happy almost Carnival!
