Uptown Accommodations

Robért LeBlanc and LeBLANC+SMITH announced today that the hospitality group will open its first hotel venture in Uptown New Orleans later this year.

LeBLANC+SMITH is behind a collection of chic restaurants around the city including Cavan, Barrel Proof, Sylvain, Meauxbar and Longway Tavern and in fall 2019 is adding The Corsair. This boutique-style hotel features 15 rooms – which includes four suites – a restaurant seating up to 120 guests; plus a pool, pool bar and a lobby bar.

The most exciting part of the announcement sent out by the company stated that The Corsair will have the ability, with its outdoor and indoor space, to accommodate intimate weddings and other small wedding-related events. The hotel will feature 13-foot ceilings, original fireplaces and other historic details throughout.

“LeBlanc’s vision for The Corsair is a hotel with genuine and memorable guest experiences so deeply entrenched in Southern hospitality that anyone and everyone will feel at home,” said the announcement. “The team collaborated with some of the best amongst the city’s creative class to weave a beautiful thread through the rich cultural, artistic, historic and architectural touch points found in the Uptown neighborhood. Hotel guests will get a strong sense of the terroir of Uptown New Orleans, home to arguably the most underrated culturally and architecturally significant parts of the city.”

Some of the team behind the new historic Queen Anne-style mansion hotel includes interior designer Sara Ruffin Costello and landscaping by John D. Gray and Gray Gardens.

“The Corsair will be a hotel for New Orleans, by New Orleans,” says LeBlanc in the announcement. “It’s a place where locals and visitors can drink, dine and celebrate life together, and where we can all feel at home. LeBLANC+SMITH couldn’t be more excited about telling the story of Uptown New Orleans through The Corsair.”

The Corsair will open in the fall at 4125 St. Charles Ave. www.corsairhotel.com
