NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Urban South Brewery has raised $7,500 for hurricane relief in Louisiana since revitalizing its Coastal Harmony Relief Fund in September. The brewery is well on its way toward the $50,000 fundraising goal it hopes to achieve before the end of the year.

One dollar from every Who Dat six-pack purchased in the taproom or in stores, as well as a percentage of Who Dat pint sales at bars and restaurants that carry the beer, is being donated to Urban South’s Coastal Harmony Relief Fund. Funds raised are being rapidly directed to organizations doing on-the-ground hurricane relief work in the southern region of Louisiana, plus those focused on the long-term work of rebuilding and fighting climate change.

“As neighbors, colleagues, friends and family members, we recognize that many community members are still feeling the devastating impact of Hurricane Ida,” said Kyle Huling, Co-Founder of Urban South Brewery. “Living in harmony with the sea is a way of life here in the Gulf South, but recently the balance has been thrown. We understand that rebuilding is a long-term process, and our goal is to raise $50,000 to help those impacted in our community in a substantial way.”

Urban South’s New Orleans distribution partner, Southern Eagle Sales & Service, has generously agreed to match up to $12,000 in donations. Urban South’s Shreveport distribution partner, Eagle Distributing, has also recently joined in to match Urban South’s donation from every Who Dat six-pack purchased in its Northwest Louisiana distribution territory.
