Nestled in the Warehouse District block of 1800-style brick buildings off of South Peters Street is one of New Orleans’ premiere wedding venues. The Chicory, which opened its doors six years ago, is in an historic building, which housed coffee beans in the 19th century – hence the name. More than 9,000 square feet of open space, exposed brick and ceilings adorned with wood beams are among the many attributes this venue offers.
We toured the vast venue and got the scoop on what The Chicory has for couples planning their wedding celebration. Brent Bogan the wedding sales manager of The Chicory suggests booking a year to 14 months before your wedding date. Because of the large amount of square footage, four rooms and ability to accommodate up to 800 people, The Chicory is capable of catering to large and smaller, more intimate events.

Bogan says, the No. 1 thing couples should know when shopping for or booking a venue is to make sure they feel a connection with the space and the people they are working with.
“Consider all the factors when shopping for a venue – the look, the reputation, the price, the size and layout,” Bogan says. “Make sure you are happy with all these things.  If you walk in and feel its right – go with your instincts.”
It’s important to remember that you will talk to and work with the people at the venue of your choice a lot over the months after booking.
“Having that harmonious rapport will give you peace of mind,” Bogan says. “…Know that we are here to help create one of the best days of your life and relax knowing you have that peace of mind.”
