NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Just a short elevator ride away from Virgin Hotels New Orleans’ vibrant lobby level gathering place, Commons Club,  two stunning new rooftop spaces, The Pool Club and Dreamboat, welcome guests with a spectacular backdrop featuring scenic skyline views of downtown New Orleans.  Offering guests year-round options for indoor/outdoor lounging, gathering and splashing around, The Pool Club and Dreamboat have a robust entertainment calendar featuring both the best of the Crescent City and national talent. Virgin Hotels New Orleans’ 13th floor venues are destined to take the mantle as New Orleans’ most popular and buzzworthy destinations for a dip in the pool and vibing to the latest music.

The rooftop locales are open to hotel guests, visitors and locals to enjoy a stylish yet down-to-earth spot with events and activations that will keep everyone entertained day and night. The expansive terrace, filled with leafy foliage and a tropical vibe, wraps around the building comfortably seating up to 150 guests. Signature drinks perfectly match the space with cocktails including the Mai Gai – Coruba Dark Jamaican rum, Rhum Barbancourt 5 Star, tropical orange, Curacao, fresh lime and almond syrup and the Frozen Lemongrass Paloma – Milagro Tequila, lemongrass syrup and fresh grapefruit.  A full list of wines by the glass and bottle and beers, Radlers and other canned alcoholic beverages are also available. Snacks include Chef Alex Harrell’s addictive Smoked Fish Dip, with fennel and celery mostarda and served with Old Bay crackers; Mushroom Fritters served with a charred green onion remoulade; Little Gem Lettuces Salad; and Avocado Toast topped with pepitas and butternut squash conserva, among others. 

There is no cover charge for guests who’d like to enjoy cocktails and snacks at the bar or cocktail tables. Poolside lounge chairs and VIP sofas, brightly colored in stripes and Virgin Hotels red, require reservations, which can be made by contacting Virgin Hotels New Orleans’ Life of the Party at  For those not staying at the hotel who would like to take a dip in the rooftop pool, a Pool Pass is available for $25 HERE or at the 13th floor host stand, pending availability. The Pool Club is open for drinks and light bites daily from 10AM – 9PM; pool pass hours in effect until 6PM. 

Dreamboat, a more intimate indoor space nestled within The Pool Club, offers a casually sophisticated vibe with elegant seating and the feeling of a private club – yet open to all. Here, guests will find classic New Orleans cocktails and specialty drinks like Weekend at Richard’s – a smooth blend of Nelson’s Green Briar Whiskey, Apricot Brandy and fresh lemon and ginger; or Empress Tea featuring Empress 1908 Gin, Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur, Earl Grey tea, fresh lemon and grapefruit juice and house made lavender syrup.  Reservations for Dreamboat are not required, but encouraged.

Programming at The Pool Club and Dreamboat invites guests to watch sporting events, chill out to special DJ sets and enjoy special locals’ promotions 13 floors above the city. Upcoming event highlights include:


New Orleans Saints Watch Parties:  Cheer on the New Orleans Saints with panoramic views of the city or celebrate pre-game or post-game. Those who wish to watch from a floatie in the pool can purchase a Pool Pass. Reservations for bar seating or pool side loungers can also be made. The Pool Club opens at 10AM with kick-off times varying by game.


Locals Love Mondays:  Live in New Orleans? Take a day off and take advantage of $10 discounted pool passes on Mondays from 10AM to 6PM. 


DJs and Live Music:  Special event programming will take place weekly at Commons Club, The Pool Club and Dreamboat including local DJs like Boyfriend, DJ Otto, Khris Royal, Nice Rack & Derrick Smoker, interspersed with national acts like DJ Logic and DJ Wildlife.

The Pool Club is open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and is located atop the recently opened Virgin Hotels New Orleans at 550 Baronne Street in the Warehouse District.
