Virtual Event, Jewish Fighters in the Civil Rights and Anti-Apartheid Movements

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Join MSJE and the South African Jewish Museum this Sunday for an eye-opening exploration of Jewish activists across the world — from New Orleans to Johannesburg — who helped change history in the turbulent 1960’s by fighting systems built to oppress Black communities.

This is a FREE virtual event.

Sunday, July 9, at 12 p.m.

Featured Speakers:

Michael Botnick, son of A. I. Botnick, high-profile Civil Rights activist in New Orleans who escaped an assassination attempt while serving as regional director of the ADL.

Nic Wolpe, son of prominent South African anti-apartheid activist Harold Wolpe, who fought alongside Nelson Mandela and was arrested and lived in exile for thirty years.
