After five wonderful years of creating the TrendWatch section for New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles, this one is sadly my last. I’ll soon be moving to my home state of California. This adventure here has truly enriched my life; I’ve enjoyed being a part of this amazing region and photographing the state of Louisiana extensively – and I’d say obviously one street in particular: Magazine. For this installment I was thinking about fluidity and easily found a theme in my old and new favorite stores on Magazine Street. They all seemed to be on the same page: ocean, sea, lake, river, Gulf – all are undeniably and inextricably a part of New Orleans life. There is so much beauty to be found and in some cases, as we know, danger. But we are able to live with it, sometimes even incorporating it into our homes. I discovered great pieces from my standbys, Hazelnut and perch., and from two places new to me, Source. and Chet Pourciau Design. Take a look, and wish me bon voyage.
