Wedding Day Tips and Advice

A wedding day can bring a handful of emotions. It’s certainly not the time you want to be worried about where your bags are, who has your dog or any number of other logistics.

Through the years, we’ve of course gathered several tips and tricks for various aspects of a wedding. Today, though, we want to share a few things we feel are important to remember so you’re not scrambling or at a loss on one of the most important days of your life.

Have someone in charge of your purse, phone, personal items.

You’re with your nearest and dearest so you shouldn’t need your phone. Plus, everything by this point, is paid for. So, though you may need them later for the after party, let someone else carry your purse. (We’d also suggest the same person carry your soon to be husband or wife’s items as well, so it’s easy handoff at the end of the night.)

Place someone in charge of your getaway items

On the same subject, make sure someone oversees your bags and items for whatever your after-wedding plans are. Assign someone in charge of your bags, your car and any other must-have items to ensure a smooth getaway.

Match makeup and hair products

Sometimes a touch-up is needed between pictures or events. During your hair and makeup consults, ask the pros what products to pack to help with those little touch-ups. Think concealer, matching lipstick, etc.

Exchange gifts and extras the day before

You don’t want to have to think about logistics of bridesmaid and groomsman gifts the day of. Consider giving gifts at the rehearsal dinner or a bridal luncheon the week before.

We suggest a cute bag and adding a “things to remember” list for your attendants to make sure they have what they need for the wedding day.

Emergency kit

This is a well-known tip, but pack an “emergency” bag filled with any medicine, antacid, sewing kit, Band-Aids, charger, a Tide To Go pen, whatever you might need in case of emergency. Pack this in with your wedding bag of undergarments and hair and makeup products!

Have someone hold breath mints

This is a small detail, however, not only will you be talking A LOT at the reception, you’ll also need to remember to eat (and drink, who are we kidding) during your long day of getting ready and no one wants to get toothpaste on their dress!
