WeddingWire Winter Bridal Trends

We’ve been discussing a lot of wedding trends following The Knot magazine’s release of its top trends for 2020. Recently, however, online wedding marketplace WeddingWire, an online division of The Knot, released its top trends for weddings this winter. Though winter doesn’t officially begin until Dec. 21, we thought we would highlight some of our favorites from WeddingWire’s top 10.

First, we love the idea of a hot drink bar replacing a mimosa bar or other cold cocktail offering. Coming in at No. 6 on the list, WeddingWire says, “Replacing the mimosa bar, hot toddy and hot chocolate bars will keep guests warm as temperatures drop.” New Orleans doesn’t necessarily have a winter weather problem, but on the days that temperatures do drop a bit, these additions would be a nice touch at any wedding-related event or party.

Though the name of one of the colors throws us off a bit, WeddingWire predicts that rusty brown and emerald green will dominate color themes throughout winter weddings. “Nothing says winter quite like deep earth and jewel tones on attire, table linens and florals,” says WeddingWire. Though the name is not appealing, the idea of a deep brown and a rich green lends a hand to a sophisticated, yet rustic, look.

The final trend we surprisingly love is filled florals with spray-painted metallics. “A nod to New Years’ favorite color palette,” says WeddingWire. “Metallic paint adds dramatic shine to a bouquet or centerpiece.” It’s important to find a chic way to express a theme and adding a bit of metallic spray paint to beautiful blooms makes for a pop of celebration that won’t have anyone judging your sense of taste.
