Each Wednesday, we tackle wedding etiquette. At times, it’s a reader question or one from a colleague, friend or family member and other times we’ll cover a popular issue. (Note: Questions may be edited for clarity and brevity.)
Question: My fiancé and I have both been married before, so we weren’t planning on registering for gifts for our upcoming wedding. Several loved ones have inquired about a registry however, which has us reconsidering our decision. Is it OK to register for gifts if this isn’t your first wedding?
Answer: Of course it’s OK to register, even if this isn’t your first time being married. Your friends and loved ones will want to not only celebrate your union during the wedding, but also via showering you with gifts. If you have already set up house or are bringing everything you need into your new union, consider a charity registry.
