Week of Dec. 9: Lafitte Greenway, Casual Caviar and Oxbow Rum

The Greenway Supernova celebration returns to the Lafitte Greenway this Thursday, Dec. 12, through Saturday, Dec. 14, 5 to 9 p.m. The light and sound holiday exhibitions feature live music, visual art displays, art vendors, food and more. A collab with the weekly Thursday Farmer’s Market will also have extended hours from 3 to 9 p.m. The event is free for all!

Looking for the perfect dessert to bring to the party? Miss River has you covered with this amazing spin on a classic. Their banana rum cake is filled with caramelized bananas and topped with white chocolate shavings. Available for order now. Save us a slice!

Treat yourself this week to a little luxury at Jewel of the South’s “Casual Caviar” service, available each Wednesday. Plus, we can’t wait to try one of the new holiday cocktails on the menu. Hot buttered rum (featuring house made Cajun hot butter)? Yes, please.

Just in time for gift-giving season, the Little Flea Market at the Hotel Saint Vincent returns this Sunday, Dec. 15, noon to 5 p.m. Local vendors will feature vintage clothing, textiles, antiques, art and more plus festive sweet treats and cocktails

We’re adding this festive rum cocktail to our holiday happy hour. Make it local by using Louisiana-made Oxbow Rum and you’re all set for some good cheer.

Finally, it’s one month until king cake season. Be sure to follow the King Cake Hub to stay on top of the latest delicious news. And remember: don’t eat king cake before Twelfth Night!
