A Very Juvie Christmas
Urban South celebrates the holidays with “A Very Juvie Christmas” this Tuesday, December 19, 5 to 8 p.m. featuring an appearance by the one and only Juvenile. There will be a gingerbread house decorating competition, photo ops with Santa, Chee Wees snacks for sale, DJ Jubilee and, of course, plenty of Juvie Juice flowing. Have fun and load up on all the best stocking stuffers for everyone naughty and nice on your list.
Baking Goods
Up to your elbows in holiday baking, but still need that one pan you just don’t have? The Jefferson Parish Library has you covered with their “Beyond Books: Library of Things” collection. Card holders can check out everything from a stand mixer, muffin tins, sheet pans, cookie cutters, cake pans and much more for two weeks at a time. Items are available at the Terrytown and North Kenner library branches.
Family Fun
Winter break is almost here, so if you’re looking for a fun activity for the whole family, head out to the recently reopened Audubon Planetarium at the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center. Interactive presentations are held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and (even better) Audubon members get in free to the Planetarium through the end of 2023. Bonus: while there take a short hike along the Nature Center trails to soak up some winter sun and fresh air. Win-win!
