TGIFFF (TGI-Fish Fry Friday) is this Friday, March 1, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Sprout NOLA Press Street Gardens, celebrating and supporting local famers, growers and Sprout NOLA Farm. This event will feature Louisiana-grown fish, vegetables and side dishes, plus live music, garden-to-glass cocktails, a plant raffle and more. Get your tickets here.
If you’re looking for something different, St. James Cheese Company has a sophisticated alternative to fish fry plates with their selection of gourmet tinned seafood (which happens to be super chic and popular right now, thanks to social media). They suggest pairing with some good, crusty bread, a salad, and perhaps a glass of wine for an easy Lenten or anytime spring lunch or dinner. Plus all tinned seafood is 10% off during Lent!
End the week on a healthy note with Move Ya Brass’ “Stretch Ya Brass” spring yoga series, each Friday, at 6 p.m. in New Orleans City Park on the Great Lawn near City Putt. Sessions are free/donations accepted. It’s a great way to kick off a new practice or for beginners who are curious about getting started.
Snoball season returns with the always much-anticipated opening of Hansen’s Sno-Bliz! This Saturday, March 2, fans can line up for their favorite flavor, plus Mais La Seafood will be on hand serving up some fresh boiled crawfish for purchase. Win-win!
